The
Men's Bible Study Group was organized in 1989. The group began with breakfast
meetings, and in 2004 changed their meeting time to Monday evenings at 7:00
p.m. The goal of the Study Group is to meet in love and fellowship to further
their understanding of the Scriptures and to strengthen their faith in Jesus
Christ. The Group is committed to the authority of the Bible as God's Word in
written form and the belief that it contains the divine answers to the deepest
needs of humanity. They believe that it sheds unique light on their path in a
dark world, and that it sets forth the way to their eternal well-being.
Books of the Bible, to be studied, are selected by consensus of the Group.
Study sessions are characterized by open and candid discussions conforming to
the Freedom of Conscience Standards as prescribed in the Book of Order.
In addition, from time to time, guest speakers are invited to discuss a broad
range of topical subjects.
An offering is collected at the beginning of each meeting. In past years the
money has been used for various benevolence causes, Christmas toys for needy
children, and items for the church.
